Social Media and Networking in Music Streaming Services (Bandcamp/Spotify): Conclusion

After the many posts that have been written about Spotify and Bandcamp, here is my conclusion.

Honestly speaking, with the existence of music streaming services, who needs CD's and iTunes music libraries?

A revoluton?

These music streaming services not only let users connect with the music that's provided in their databases.

At the Spotify side, its integration with Facebook and Twitter allows users to connect with friends and/or family with similar music taste and/or showing people what kind of music you listen to with the choices or preferences in music selection may be taken as suggestions or recommendations to our friends and eventually inadvertently inspiring our friends, and the music listening habits that happen later.

Spofty has literally evolved our way of interacting with our friends. Back then, we used to tell our friends to "listen to this", or "listen to that"

But thanks to Spotify, we can follow playlists, you don't necessarily have to like all the songs, but maybe one or two songs might be interesting.

Here, we see a customisable playlist shared by yours truly :)

Music is a form of expression. Bandcamp and Spotify are examples on how new media and social media can be integrated into music
Though not much like Spotify, Bandcamp still operates like a social network.

As more users continue to listen to music in these music streaming services and share their music consumption with their friends, I can definitely foresee the purpose of these streaming sites changing from a place to listen to music to one for sharing it.

Thank you for reading.

It's been a wild ride, and I hope you enjoy my blog posts.
